Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the Sunninghill FC official website,

After the 2006/07 season in which we finished runners up in the league after a final day defeat to champions Blackwater Valley, the 2007/08 season was always going to be a tough act to follow, and despite remaining unbeaten for the opening 5 games to many draws meant we slipped off the pace early.

Injuries and unavailability then set in to key players and the squad was stretched to the limit, as we were knocked out of both cup competitions early the remainder of the season really didnt mean a lot, and with the league frustrating us with a lack of fixtures we were awarded draws in 2 games that were never arranged and finished 6th in the table.

Captain Dan Parker was named players player after a season of consistent performances leading the side my example and finishing as the sides second top scorer, whilst keeper Chris Regan was rewarded for a number of fine performances with the managers player award.

Manager Clinton Harcup stepped down at the end of the season to concentrate on playing, whilst veteran Paul "Birdy" McDowell stepped into the hotseat, and he has made a number of key signings already ahead of the new season to add depth to the squad which will hopefully see us challenging for honours in the coming season.

The side play their home games at the Victory Fields in Sunninghill on a Sunday morning before heading back to the Dukes Head pub in Sunninghill after the game.

Dukes Head

A big thank you also goes out to the Dukes Head pub in Sunninghill, whose generous sponsorship of the team has given it the solid foundations to push on and improve the standard of the club, not only behind the scenes but also the good facilities and hospitality shown to the players.

The pub has a friendly atmosphere so if you find yourself in the Sunninghill area pop in for a drink. The pub also has a pool table, large bar, beer garden and plasma screen TV showing live premiership and european football.

A map of the pub is shown below:
